On entering the Museum you are in the
JAMES GIBB ROOM
To the right are exhibits on pre-historic Sherborne, a scale model of the Norman Old Castle and a case of artefacts from the English Civil War.
New cases hold artefacts from the Paddock Garden Finds, prehistory and geology.
At the other end of the James Gibb Room is a wall painting dating from 1480 and the Museum Shop which stocks gifts; publications covering local history; post cards; and other items.

GARDNER ROOM
This room forms the extension to the Museum created in 1996 through a National Lottery Heritage Grant.
This season, modern technology has enabled the Sherborne Missal to ‘come home’, the original being held by the British Library.
New this season, Ironmongers shop, school medals, coins, Sherborne Historical Society 50th anniversary exhibition.
Local schools are invited to mount displays each year. This year pupils will be mounting Abbey School 150th anniversary exhibition.

MARSDEN ROOM
In which our renowned Dolls House, as featured in the BBC TV show "Antiques Inspectors".
There is also a display covering the history of silk manufacturing in Sherborne; a tableau showing some of our fine collection of costumes and albums of photographs depicting Sherborne and its inhabitants over the past 150 years.
New this year, "Atishoo" - handkerchiefs through the ages, visiting cards and a Victorian nursery.
