Not all our collections are able to be displayed at once, so a reserve is held in secure and environmentally stable conditions in the strong room of the Manor House, Newland, with kind permission of the Sherborne
Town Council. We do, however, rotate our exhibitions regularly in order to keep artefacts in circulation.
We endeavour to photograph as many as possible and make them digitally available. Some of our archives are held at the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester where they are not only conserved
to high standards but also made more accessible to researchers. Many of our photographs can be viewed on a touch-screen in one of the ground floor galleries.
Private tours of the Museum and Schools visits are welcomed and can always be arranged.
